New Sparta Song on MySpace

I'm the 1/3 or Metro D that actually prefers Sparta to The Mars Volta and as great as Wiretrap Scars was, Porcelain was equally disappointing (the new TMV album has done little to impress me but I'll leave that analysis for when InMyTree returns). We now get details on their third full-length, Threes, set to release on October 10th. For 24 hours only you can listen to their first single "Taking Back Control" on MySpace. This single will also be featured in the new Maddon '07 video game. After a couple listens now, it's interesting that Jim Ward actually has more of a back-up vocals role (I guess to Keeley Davis?) in the song. Either way, it's a good taste and I'm ready to hear more.

So, hurry over to MySpace now or wait until the MP3 eventually hits Hype.
You can also watch episode 4 of their podcast here.

Here is the tracklisting:

  1. Untreatable Disease
  2. Crawl
  3. Unstitch Your Mouth
  4. Taking Back Control
  5. Erase It Again
  6. Atlas
  7. The Most Vicious Crime
  8. False Start
  9. Weather The Storm
  10. Red.Right.Return. (Straight In Our Hands)
  11. Without A Sound
  12. Translations (featuring guest vocalist Merry Clayton, who sang with Ray Charles and sang backup vocals on The Rolling Stones classic, "Gimme Shelter")
UPDATE: Ok, someone lied. The song is still up on MySpace.

Great track, but they don't scare me like Cedric & Company. But then again, not many do.
