My Morning Jacket on Tour

My Morning Jacket has been pretty quiet...even with the release of a double-live album, titled Okonokos. But, I stumbled upon information for their upcoming tour while I was checking out The Slip. For the shows outside of the Metro D sphere of influence, you can find more information at MyMorningJacket.com. The majority of the pre-sales are already closed, but the pre-sale for the 9:30 Club shows (27 & 28 November) go on October 19th.

I missed these guys at Coachella because they were opposite TV On The Radio. Their setlist was heavy on Z and garnered mix reviews around the blogosphere, but JQ, who is a huge Jim James fan, caught them and said they were brilliant. I am not missing this band for the world. The October dates are Jim James opening solo slots for Jonathan Prine, while the other dates are headlining gigs that draw support from Boston's The Slip and Louisville's Wax Fang.
