Beirut Review hits Pitchfork

The biggest name in the indie blog space today (look at the press section on his site if you don't believe me), Beirut, got a 7.7 from Pitchfork and somehow garnered a "recommended" tag which I suppose is based merely on potential for this 19 year old. He recently got a band together for his first show in NYC (read the review on Stereogum). Having only listened to the 4 tracks that are generally available for download on the internet, Beirut brings a very unique sound despite the Neutral Milk comparisons. It's certainly made my list of buys but you can judge for yourself below. Gulag Orkestar was released on Tuesday and you can buy it at Insound.

MP3: Beirut - Postcards from Italy
MP3: Beirut - Mount Wroclai (Idle Days)
