Shows of Note in June: Boris, Birdmonster

Brooklyn Vegan tossed the Birdmonster tour dates out today, and I am not sure if this show has been on the Black Cat website for a while now, or what. At any rate, these guys are great. The lead vocals remind me of Sparta, but the overall sound is tougher to pigeon-hole.

Boris' album PINK has been floating around the Insound Top Seller list since it dropped and I finally bought it this week. This band is so heavy it hurts. And it makes me want to learn Japanese.
