I wonder if Flea is still complaining about their record leak? Whether intentionally or unintentionally said as a marketing ploy, RHCP landed the number 1 spot for the first time in their career with 442,000 sales. Tool, last week's winner, had a big drop off in sales and fell to third. These album sales are pretty small in the grand scheme of things - 442,000 out of close to 300 million people in the US - and who knows how many people have downloaded it both legally and illegally but these leaks don't really appear to be effecting the biggest bands of the world. Maybe I don't have enough information to make that case. In a related note, Mogwai has an interesting take on their album leak.
