Apologies...

For the way that the posting went last night. I think they might have been out of order and I don't think that they hit until after Tool finished. Anyway, Tool was insane, running through all of their heavy favorites and introducing us to three new ones. Maynard kept mainly to the back of the stage flanking Danny Carey's monstrous drum kit. As he walked out in the beginning he loosened the crowd up a little, stating "hello, hippies..." The crowd absolutely roared and several, playful "fuck you"s came out of the crowd. Maynard laughed a little and continued "I smell petulees." Usual Maynard is very talkative on stage, but he didn't mess around too much, under the time crunch, they got right down to business. Their sound is epic live. Epic. Danny Carey's drumming was a phenomenal sight. Throughout the show the crowd was singing every word and Maynard gave them a chance to shine early. During "Stinkfist" the crowd didn't skip a beat covering from MJK when he pulled away from the mic and let the crowd yell phrase "I'll/Keep/Digging/'Til I/Feel/Something". The pit evolved immediately and the crowd was nuts. Chemlights were being tossed on stage throughout the set and halfway through Maynard began fashioning a belt mad of them. He had his old mohawk (circa UNDERTOW?) Which, at times, was hidden under a cowboy hat. His vocals were at once elegant and aggressive, haunting and powerful. After the first few songs he noted, "welcome to our first show in a long time." To which the crowd rejoiced. They were well worth the wait. The setup by Massive Attack was great. I am not a huge fan, but I have great respect for what they bring to the table. The varying vocalists and vocal styles were awesome and the instrumentation was great as well.
