Came across this post from the Rolling Stone Blog on Monday. They put together an unofficial, unscientific list of the 10 best debut album openers. Never hesitating from a challenge, InMyTree and I recorded a similar, unscientific, list awhile back - only these are album openers irrespective of debut. This is restricted to the Gen Y, X, etc. generation...

"Seven Nation Army" was not on a debut album...It was the lead track on the album Elephant, which came out in 2003, and was The White Stripes' FOURTH album, after The White Stripes, De Stijl, and White Blood Cells
And while I'm at it, "Testify" is NOT a debut track, either.
Just realized that you said your lists were non-debut specific. Sorry. Carry on.
I am going to go with the Ramones tune. You can never sit still listening to Blitzkrieg Bop.

Rolling Stone still has no love for Zeppelin?
