Just read this article stating that Apple is making attempts to appease record execs by "allowing fans to buy complete digital albums without having to pay again for songs they already own." I'm not sure how much this will really impact the record industry; the rest of us have certainly figured out that it's a battle that can't be won. But, this definitely serves to benefit the user attempting to buy any album over 10 songs whereby a selection has already been purchased. "For example, if a customer had bought three 99-cent singles and decides to download the entire album with a listed price of $9.99, the customer would only have to pay $7.02." So, if it helps those folks who purchase music online, I'm all for it.
It's currently live on iTunes althought it says "limited-time offer." Current offers are set to expire on June 26.

It's a decent idea in theory, but in practice I'm not sure how this will help the record industry or change the habits of consumers very much.
