Coachella news: Hard-Fi out, Film Festival

This is the latest news from the desert plains of California:

"Coachella Film Festival
The Coachella film festival is back. Visit Coachellafilmfestival.com for the listing of films to be shown as well as the screen schedule.

Hard Fi - bye bye
Necessary/Atlantic recording group Hard-Fi has been forced to cancel some upcoming dates in North America due to a throat infection being suffered by lead singer Richard Archer. He is currently under a doctor's care, and the band is expected to resume their worldwide tour schedule shortly.

'I am deeply frustrated by the problem I'm having with my throat,'says Richard. 'We were so looking forward to hitting the States again at the end of the month, and especially looking forward to playing the Coachella festival, but unfortunately it's just not possible at this time. We'll be back in June and plan to make up for it.' The cancelled shows are: 22 Vancouver, BC Plaza Club; 24 Seattle, WA Chop Suey; 25 Portland, OR Berbati's Pan; 27 Sacramento, CA The Boardwalk; 28 San Francisco, CA Slim's; 29 Indio, CA Coachella Music & Arts Festival" - from Coachella.com.

We wish Richard a speedy recovery and Hard-Fi a quick return to the road.
