DC101 is, for all intents and purposes, brain poison, but I just found myself in an unavoidable situation where it was rocking and in between 311 and Shinedown some guy made mention of something I had been meaning to post about.

I have been hearing and reading a lot about Bad Brains lately: the Vegan had a post that pointed me to a very informative Wikipedia bio and we talked about the movie American Hardcore earlier this summer. This performance displays why Bad Brains became one of the most important bands in the history of American Hardcore. On Christmas Eve 1982, Bad Brains began a three-day stint at a Hardcore Festival hosted by the legendary CBGB. This film represents the very best of these shows, culled from over 4 hours of footage. The band's live performances were legendary, their visual recordings almost impossible to find. Now, one of those performances is revisited in extraordinary fashion.
