One of my favorite paintings resides in the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. It is Thomas Eakins' "The Gross Clinic." I have never actually seen this in person, but I spent a great deal of time studying it along with the rest of Eakins' works in college. Here's hoping I get to PA early enough to check it out in person.
