Putting the Bastard in Ticketbastard

What do we think that last digit is? My gut was 4. Then I thought about it and went with A. It didn't really matter because I was buying tickets to a Black Cat show that most likely won't sell out.

But when it does matter, these little pictopuzzles suck. For example, when I am in Austin in front of the lobby computer at the Rodeway Inn trying to score tickets to Arcade Fire at D.A.R. I am not a fan of the pictopuzzle. Waking up at 8:00 is hard enough after a late, late night in Austin and a not-so-comfortable sleep at aforementioned hotel. But I did it. Made sure I had the computer at 9:00 (10 EST) for Arcade Fire tix. So far so good. Then come the pictopuzzles. These little shits are getting harder and harder everytime I get on Ticketbastard.

I got rebuffed on my best efforts three or four times while scouring for tickets. I ended up getting 2, on the floor, but they weren't together. It gets to 3 past the hour and I hit the "Oh fuck I am going to miss the fucking show!" mode and it is on. 1 ticket. Best available. Go. 1 ticket. Best available. Yes! Fuck! Fine. But...we have tickets. I don't know, maybe it is my eyes going or maybe it was that the Rodeway Inn was rocking off of Internet Explorer 4.5. Whatever the case, there has to be an easier way.

Reminder: DC Tickets for Arcade Fire On Sale 2/24

Tickets for the DAR Constitution Hall show go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. on ticketbastard.

If sales for the other shows on this tour are any indication, this will be another tough ticket so you best be on your game. There is also a random message on the Ticketmaster site for DC:

Additional Information:
The first 7 rows of the orchestra seating have a two ticket limit and are WILL CALL ONLY! These tickets can only be picked up on the day of the show, and only by the credit card holder. The credit card holder must show both a valid photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the tickets. The credit card holder MUST be the one to use the tickets and NO second party WILL CALL or name changes will be allowed.

Tickets are 30 bucks which apparently will put you in any seat in the place.

UPDATE: Just did a ticket search at 10:10 and it looks like only single tickets are still available. Capacity is 3700. Not surprising but still pretty impressive.

Bloc Party in NYC in March

Not reported on BlocParty.com, Bloc Party's MySpace page or even BlocParty.net, but reported at Ticketbastard of all places. This wouldn't be that surprising (venues sometimes announce dates before bands announce them) except for the fact that these tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. Part of me wonders why I am announcing this, especially after the feeding frenzy Arcade Fire initiated this morning.

One can only hope that this is the beginning of an Amerian leg in support of A Weekend In The City. And that Metric will do the opening honors (as they are in 9 venues across England). Funny how this all ties together today.

United Palace Theatre (held 3500 when it was built, if it had a more informative website I could tell you how many people it holds now) info can be found here. They, also, are not reporting Bloc Party's date.
